Your voice is more important now than ever before. What you do and how you vote this year will determine the future of your family, your children, and your grandchildren. The risk is too great to ignore the event. You can’t sit back and let others decide the future for you and your family in these critical times. Align yourself with a political party based on what you think the future holds for you and your family.
You would expect our elected representatives to do the bidding of the people. You would expect them to keep their campaign promises. You would expect them to be in touch with reality. Surprise… our representatives score near zero in all the above areas.
When you and thousands of others do your civic duty and call or email your representatives to air concerns, you would expect them to at least acknowledge your interest. Again, our representatives score near zero when it comes to responding to their constituents’ concerns.
It’s no wonder we feel like no one is listening or paying attention to what the masses want. According to Charlie Reese, a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper, “one hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices; 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country. Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you and me that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.” We get exactly what they all want. Granted, we can’t all be on the same page, but last I thought, the majority rules.
If elected representatives won’t listen to the concerns of the majority of Americans, what is the average citizen to do? Obviously, they don’t believe our concerns are valid. Obviously, their main concerns are paying attention to lobbyists’ interests, and those who fund their elections, all in the name of getting reelected.
Get used to it. It doesn’t matter who or what party wins the upcoming election, things will likely not change. That being said, there is one conservative candidate who is saying what many people want to hear and he promises to stir the pot and make real changes. If he wins, hopefully it will make a difference. If not, it’s anybody’s guess how fast this country will deteriorate.
Let me leave you with this: William James Durant, a Pulitzer Prize winning historian (1885-1981), studied all the great civilizations from the past and came to this conclusion:
“A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has first destroyed itself from within.”
