New FBI letter from Comey, who in a somewhat cryptic message wrote:
“Since my letter, the FBI investigative team has been working around the clock to process and review a large volume of emails,”
“During that time we reviewed all of the communications that were to or from Hillary Clinton as secretary of state. Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusion.”
Clearly this is a good turn of events for the Clinton campaign; however, there isn’t nearly enough information to fully understand what’s really going on. Is the FBI simply announcing that the decision not to prosecute for the use of the personal server will stand? Are they just buying themselves time to package new findings which are more likely to lead to a prosecution on several other charges such as those wrongdoings we are learning about concerning the Clinton Foundation?
Just guessing here, but Comey may have been under a ton of pressure to say something. The use of a personal email server may be small potatoes compared to new information that could potentially take down a pile of corrupt politicians. Maybe they are just doing what they feel they have to now to give them better chances of a real prosecution later.
