Saudi Arabia Executes 47 Prisoners In One Day

Saudi Arabia had 47 prisoners executed on Saturday including an outspoken Shiite cleric, Nimr-al-Nimr, who was convicted of terrorist acts to include sedition and inciting sectarian strife and was arrested back in 2012.

Demonstrations at the Saudi embassy in Tehran broke out late Saturday as police and security forces attempted to break up the “sporadic” protests. Crowds were still gathering in front of the embassy complex early Sunday morning.
