A Glimpse Into the Past: June 20th Was Monumental
Too often we focus exclusively on the present. There’s so much negativity surrounding modern politics that it’s hard to keep track of what’s what. Sometimes it’s a good idea to remind ourselves where we came from and how much humanity has accomplished in such a short period of time. Take a trip down memory lane with these landmark events that took place on June 20th.
2019 Is a Bad Year for Truckers
The trucking industry is in for a bumpy ride over the next few years. Retailers are pressing the brakes on their freight services to save money and meet their declining product demands. Trucking is one of the most common jobs in America with nearly 1.9 million truck drivers, so this is hitting hard for a lot of families.
“We have become increasingly convinced that freight is likely to remain weak through 2019 followed by falling truckload and intermodal contract rates in 2020.”
-Thomas Wadewitz, UBS Analyst
Automation is making big strides in the freight industry as well. Right now the focus is on driver assist modules, but the end goal is to replace drivers with robot trucks over the next few decades. The nature of trucking is changing — we need to find some way to adapt to these inevitable changes.
And Now, Something Funny…
Let’s get the coming weekend off to a good start, shall we? If you’re feeling sick and tired of insane Liberal views, we think you’ll develop a fondness for this one. It’s all in good fun.
