(UnitedVoice.com) – In 2016, Donald Trump was handed a gift when Hillary Clinton said his supporters belonged in a “basket of deplorables.” The term ignited passion among Trump enthusiasts who wore all kinds of attire, acknowledging their newfound pride. The slang term was meant to be derogatory. Instead, it became a badge of honor as the term helped propel Trump to the White House.
In the 2020 general election, Democrats were handed a humiliating defeat in the House as the GOP picked up a significant number of seats. In state legislatures across the country, Republicans held their majorities and even picked up one in New Hampshire. Current Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) will be the second most powerful person in Washington, D.C., regardless of whether the GOP or Democrats control the Senate.
Yep, the deplorables did it again, and they might repeat in 2022 and 2024.
Deplorables Are on a Role
Deplorables make up a large group of voters who are working, middle-class people who disagree with the liberal, far-left agenda. Obama referred to them as people who “cling to their guns and their religion.” Deplorables have a strong distaste for “woke” and identity politics. It makes sense. For four years, Democrats tried to peel Trump’s supporters away from the president. It didn’t work. Instead of trying to find common ground with them or disagreeing on policy, Democrats doubled down and attacked them.
Nearly 15 years ago, “woke” elitist Democrats tried to get rid of “Merry Christmas” and nativity sets. Now, if you don’t agree with them, you’re a racist or a xenophobe. In 2017 and 2018, boycotts were enacted against businesses and public officials who supported President Trump. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and state-induced shutdowns, Democratic leaders condoned violence in big cities as “peaceful protests.” Soon after, they waged war on police under the guise of defunding them.
Half of the country voted against this type of destructive politics. The Deplorables are not going to stop showing up for elections to vote for people who love America.
2022 and 2024 Are Coming Quickly
The 2020 presidential election isn’t even over, technically, and we’re already talking about the next one. However, it’s worth discussing. Democrats are already turning on one another. Moderates, liberals, and the far-left can’t seem to agree on much of anything.
On Thursday, December 17, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was rebuked by her fellow Democrats in the House. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) dealt AOC a crushing blow when she allowed the caucus to vote between the firebrand socialist Democrat and more moderate Democrat Kathleen Price (D-NY) for a final seat on the coveted House Energy and Commerce Committee. AOC lost by a whopping 46-13.
What does this mean? War has broken out publicly in the halls of Congress. It’s on the record. Expect the craziness to intensify as Republicans sit back and watch the show. Occasionally, they’ll throw a jab just to keep it going.
In the end, Democrats could eat each other alive and destroy their slim majority. By 2022, many pollsters project the GOP will get the House back. By 2024, who KNOWS what is going to happen. Regardless, the GOP nominee could have a phenomenal opportunity. If it all goes well, a united Republican government is possible in 2025.
In the meantime, Deplorables will ensure there isn’t any complacency come time to vote.
