(UnitedVoice.com) – In a recent speech given by Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), the southern Black Senator reminded America equality is not realized by fighting discrimination with discrimination. But, apparently, that kind of common sense doesn’t ring loudly with President Joe Biden or the far-leftists in his administration. Instead of fighting for equality, Biden is running in the opposite direction. The president is advocating for “racial equity” and is using the federal government’s power to implement his radical ideas.
Biden’s equity push is starting to come into focus. If you’re of a certain race or gender, you can expect to be lavishly treated. If you’re not, the government will find a way to exclude you. Isn’t that exactly what government laws and regulations are supposed to protect against? Instead, it’s now actively corrupting America and dividing the nation in ways never before seen. Worse still, it’s not a naive mistake.
The Soft Expectations of Bigotry
For decades, Democrats chose to use race as a political tool to help them win elections over helping communities solve problems and increasing opportunities. During former President Trump’s tenure, opportunities and wages rose for minorities for the first time in generations until the COVID-19 pandemic struck the United States in March 2020. Instead of focusing on the Trump policies that worked, Biden is returning the soft bigotry of low expectations.
Instead of empowering struggling minority communities, Biden is setting them along a path of government dependency. The president is all but ignoring the great calls of the past. Where’s JFK’s call to all of America to “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”
It doesn’t exist anymore. The politics of today is to ride the wave of racial equity as if it’s going to be the savior of America. There’s bad news. It’s not. Instead, government-endorsed discrimination is setting America back and threatening to undo the gains of the last 50 years.
Government-Induced Reverse Discrimination
We’re only six months into the Biden administration, and government officials are quickly implementing reverse discrimination “equity” programs. The government is fast treating people differently based on the color of one’s skin. Let’s look at a few examples.
On May 3, the Small Business Administration (SBA) began giving preference to women and minorities, and excluding male, white-owned restaurants. One white business owner sued the administration over its racist policies. The US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Judge Amal Thapar said, “It is indeed a sordid business to divide us up by race.”
Unfortunately, there’s a lot more. On June 3, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) started forgiving loans owned by farmers and ranchers. Guess who’s excluded? White farmers and ranchers. The USDA is also creating another $1 billion to buy land for non-white farmers and ranchers. To pile on, it’s also setting up a $400-million program to buy food from non-white food producers.
Let’s keep going…
The Treasury Department is about to execute a $9.9-billion mortgage-assistance program. Again, money is being intentionally set aside for non-white homeowners. To round out the pattern of discrimination, the SBA is adding a $10-billion Small Business Credit Initiative that excludes white small businesses.
The Government Is Creating Dangerous Consequences
How is it acceptable that any politician or government employee could develop such a clear violation of ethics, let alone the Constitution? Who thought it would be appropriate to use the government in this way? Apparently, Democrats believe this behavior gives them a political advantage. It certainly won’t help the economy, unite America, or decrease racial tensions.
Here’s the hard truth … if the government can erode equality under the law, what’s to stop it from eroding other rights?
It’s something to think about.
America should be coming together as we exit the pandemic. Instead, Joe Biden and the Democrats are encouraging dis-unity. While Biden corrupts the principles of equality under the law, let’s hope Americans come together and unite despite the politics of the day and push back in the 2022 midterm elections.
