Biden Avoids Reporters as America Waits for First Press Conference

(UnitedVoice.com) – Former President Donald Trump was incredibly accessible. He regularly talked to reporters, used Twitter every day to speak to the American public, and held impromptu press conferences. President Joe Biden is not the same and the press is beginning to notice.

On Tuesday, March 9, Biden visited the W.S. Jenks & Son hardware store in Washington, DC. He toured the store with the owners for a few minutes and spoke a few words to the press. When journalists started asking the president questions, his aides intervened and told them to leave. His refusal to answer questions once again demonstrated how inaccessible he is to the public. He’s still not held a single, solo press conference more than a month into his presidency.

It’s jarring to go from a president who spoke to the press as often as Trump did, to someone like Biden who seems uninterested. The American people have a right to hear from the commander-in-chief. Canned responses from his press secretary are not sufficient.
