Biden Official Allegedly Caught Stealing Luggage
(UnitedVoice.com) – When people work for the US government, they also represent the country. There’s an expectation government employees will follow the law. Yet, a member of President Joe Biden’s administration is in hot water after an accusation of theft.
According to reports, authorities have accused 35-year-old Sam Brinton of taking a woman’s suitcase from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport’s baggage claim in September. Security footage allegedly caught the Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy official as he took the suitcase from the baggage carousel. Brinton had arrived at the Minnesota airport via a flight from the nation’s capital.
Police estimate the value of the suitcase and its contents at $2,325, making the charge a felony.

Two days after the alleged theft, security footage reportedly captured Brinton at the airport again. Court documents claim observers saw the non-binary official in possession of the suitcase twice more. A police officer contacted him to ask about the bag, but he denied taking it. Later, he called the agent back and claimed he took it by accident but didn’t notice until checking into the hotel. At that point, Brinton reportedly “got nervous people would think they stole the bag and did not know what to do.”
Brinton is expecting the first court appearance to take place on December 19. He faces a $10,000 fine and up to five years in prison. He’s currently on temporary leave from the federal government.
