Biden Called Out Over “Outright Lies”
(UnitedVoice.com) – Gas prices soared in 2022 as demand increased. OPEC refused to increase production for months, prompting President Joe Biden to release products from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). During a recent speech, the POTUS tried to rewrite history.
On Thursday, October 27, Biden spoke at Onondaga Community College’s SRC Arena in Syracuse, New York. During his remarks, the POTUS claimed gas prices had dropped $1.25 in recent weeks, bringing the average price per gallon for regular gas to $3.39. Then he said something that was completely and utterly false. He alleged the price was “down from over $5 when [he] took office.”
BIDEN: "The most common price of gas in America is $3.39. Down from over $5 when I took office."

Fact-checkers went wild after the speech. Snopes labeled the president’s claims as “false,” reporting the actual price per gallon was $2.39. CNN also called Biden out for his lie, stating the claim was not “even close to true.”
Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) tweeted a response to the president’s wild remarks, pointing out that gas prices are actually $1.40 higher than when Biden took office in January 2021.
The national average for a gallon of gas is $3.76, nearly $1.40 higher than when Joe Biden took office.
We need real solutions to lower gas prices, starting with incentivizing American energy production.https://t.co/X5DWM3XDLM

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) also called out the president for the remark.
Joe Biden now says gas was over $5 per gallon when he took office.
(It wasn’t)

Do you think the president should apologize for his false statements?
