(UnitedVoice.com) – During a CNN virtual town hall on Thursday, presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden faced a unique question. A virtual attendee asked him what the possibility was of a Biden-Cuomo ticket in the 2020 election.
Although the New York Mayor has been praised by many for safeguarding the city during the coronavirus outbreak, it’s not the route Biden wants to take. During a debate back in March, he declared he would only select a woman as his vice-presidential running mate.
Joe Biden says he thinks NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo is “capable” of being President but that he still plans to choose a woman as his VP: “There’s plenty of qualified people who have the experience and background who are women who are ready to be President” #CNNTownHall pic.twitter.com/hx7QhLYbFB

He also said, if elected president, he would commit to appointing an African-American woman to the Supreme Court.
Although he’s yet to officially announce his pick for a female running mate, his shortlist includes Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA), Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Biden said he believes there are plenty of qualified and experienced women for the job of vice president and is committed to making that happen.
