[BREAKING NEWS] Dems Vote for Impeachment Rules on Party Line Vote

On a partisan, party-line vote of 232-196, House Democrats passed a resolution setting the formal ground rules for an impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

All Republicans and two Democrats voted against the resolution.

After weeks of closed-door testimony, Republicans put the heat on Democrats for running an unfair impeachment inquiry, arguing that the process did not allow for President Trump to exercise his due process rights.

The rhetoric leading up to the vote was contentious and heated at times. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) used a placard of a US flag as a prop while declaring that “we are defending our democracy.”

Republicans, on the other hand, claimed it was a blatant and obvious coup to unseat a sitting president of the United States.
