California Adds Iowa to Travel Ban [PLUS: Osama bin Laden’s Son Confirmed Dead and Ex-ICE Director Offers Advice]

Death of Osama bin Laden’s Son Confirmed

President Trump confirmed that Osma bin Laden’s son, Hamza bin Laden, has been killed.

In a statement released by the White House, the president said:

“The loss of Hamza bin Ladin not only deprives al-Qa’ida of important leadership skills and the symbolic connection to his father but undermines important operational activities of the group. Hamza bin Ladin was responsible for planning and dealing with various terrorist groups.”

-President Donald Trump

Reports came out earlier this summer from unnamed sources that bin Laden had been killed, but there has been no news on how he died until now. He was killed during a counterterrorist operation by the US.

After the death of his father in 2011, Hamza bin Laden was given a prominent role in the terrorist organization. He was last seen on video in 2018.

California Adds Iowa to Travel Ban

In 2016, Californa Governor Jerry Brown signed a law that barred the state from paying for any travel arrangements to other states that have anti-LGBTQ laws. The current Attorney General Xavier Becerra has shown no qualms about adding states to the ever-growing list.

The travel ban started off with Kansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and North Carolina. Shortly after the attorney general added Texas, South Dakota, Alabama and Kentucky. Recently, he added another state: Iowa.

The new ban goes into effect on October 4.

So, what’s Becerra’s reason for adding Iowa to the list? The state has prohibited funding gender-transition surgery for people on Medicaid. One direct consequence of this travel ban is that sports teams in state-run universities need to find their own travel funds for out-of-state events to these states.

The Iowa Legislature has reversed course on what was settled law under the Iowa Civil Rights Act, repealing protections for those seeking gender-affirming health care. “California has taken an unambiguous stand against discrimination and government actions that would enable it.

– Attorney General Xavier Becerra

That’s right, your state could end up on California’s travel ban if it doesn’t pay for LGBTQ endeavors.

Ex-ICE Director Has Advice for Activists

The former acting director of ICE, Thomas Homan, had a lot to say about anti-ICE activists recently. During an interview on Fox & Friends Homan said: “I wish they’d read a book or study. Go to the ICE website…to see what ICE does.”

Homan believes that most of the people who are against ICE simply don’t understand that most of the work they do involves people who have committed crimes. ICE is actively working on keeping drugs and sexual predators off America’s streets.

Fox & Friends interviewed the former ICE director for his opinion on the recent anti-ICE protests. Earlier this month, 76 demonstrators were arrested at a Microsoft store in New York after word got out that they were working with ICE.

This isn’t the first time that Homan has been on Fox News defending ICE. He has been a staunch defender of the agency and what it does for years. Homan has also recently testified before congressional committees. During another interview with Fox & Friends in July, Homan explained why he’s so passionate about this topic.

When you tell somebody that spent their career saving lives that I don’t care about dying children and I’m a racist, that’s where I broke and that’s where I had enough.

-Thomas Homan
