(UnitedVoice.com) – US politics could soon see a new wave of celebrities entering races – and they’re likely following the example of Donald Trump. Our last president might not always be a favorite with woke Hollywood types, but it turns out he still inspires them.
The U.S. has a rich history of celebrities entering politics, and the list is growing. Caitlyn Jenner is running for California governor, Matthew McConaughey has said he may run for Texas governor, and Andrew Yang wants to be mayor of New York City. https://t.co/U5jUH09XXd

Last week, reality star Caitlyn Jenner stepped forward as a challenger to California Governor Gavin Newsom (D). Jenner, a longtime GOP supporter, says “Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision.” Actor Matthew McConaughey is flirting with the idea of a run for the Texan governor’s mansion. Wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is considering a run at the White House. What’s got all these celebrities suddenly interested in politics?
According to analysts, it’s Donald Trump. GOP strategy expert John Brabender says Trump’s election showed people that you don’t have to be a career politician to run. “Trump sort of broke some barriers and shattered some glass ceilings,” he said.
PoliSci professor David Jackson, of Ohio’s Bowling Green State University, said that thanks to Trump “There’s no sense of an apprenticeship required before seeking the highest office.” If they’re right, the Swamp’s grip on our government might just loosen a little more.
