Clinton Foundation Money Troubles

Clinton Foundation Money Troubles

While former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton loves going around the talk show circuit and acting like she could win in 2020, her finances show something entirely different.

The Clinton Foundation

According to their website, The Clinton Foundation “builds partnerships between businesses, NGOs, governments, and individuals everywhere to work faster, better, and leaner; to find solutions that last; and to transform lives and communities from what they are today to what they can be tomorrow.”

The foundation claims to have provided over 30,000 schools in America with healthy lunches, helped more than 150,000 farmers in third-world countries and planted over 8.5 million trees.

Lack of Donations

Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight to chat about The Clinton Foundation.

Since Hillary’s loss in 2016, the foundation has seen a significant drop in donations. During his interview, Schweizer said,

“All that money has now dried up, literally. The Clinton Foundation has had a hard time raising money because they don’t have the influence to sell. They don’t have power access to sell and that, I think, is the primary evidence for what the Clinton enterprise was all about.”

It was rumored that when Clinton was Secretary of State, she was selling access to important people and events. When talking about that topic, Schweizer added, “The Clinton Foundation literally raised 10% of what it did in 2009 when Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, and the international numbers are even worse.”

The Numbers

According to tax records, the Clinton Foundation has lost money the past two years in a row. In 2017, they lost $16.1 million and in 2018 they lost almost $17 million.

When asked about the struggling foundation, Clinton Foundation spokesman Brian Cookstra had this to say: “These reports are not accurate. Our entire 990 shows our work was fully funded by donations, grants, savings from prior years, and interest from our endowment,” Cookstra told Fox Business. “In the last year, the Clinton Foundation’s programs have grown to help more people, and we are committed to operating programs that are effective, efficient, and sustainable.”

Hillary can’t even get donations for her foundation, how does she think she’ll be able to get any for another failed presidential run?
