COVID: Israeli Lab Announces “Significant Breakthrough”

(UnitedVoice.com) – Shmuel Shapira, director of the Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR) is touting a “significant breakthrough” for the novel coronavirus. This comes as the world searches for answers to end the spread of COVID-19.

The IIBR has reportedly isolated and formulated an antibody that attacks and neutralizes the virus in sick patients. Since it’s monoclonal — derived from a single cell, rather than many — it has a higher possibility of being effective. Defense Minister Naftali Bennett visited the main lab praising staff efforts in finding a potential cure, saying he’s proud of their “creativity and ingenuity.”

After this antibody formula goes through the patent process, which is currently in progress, it’ll be sent to an international manufacturer for mass production.

This “breakthrough” is good news as medical professionals work tirelessly around the world to find a cure for this deadly virus. The global pandemic has infected over 3.6 million people, showing no signs of slowing down.
