Democratic Delegate Slips, Says Trump “Needs To Be Shot” on TV

Democrat Leader Slips, Says Trump

(UnitedVoice.com) – Delegate Stacey Plaskett (D) is a non-voting member of the House, representing the US Virgin Islands at-large district. She is also a former Republican who served in the Department of Justice’s civil division during former President George W. Bush’s administration before she switched to the Democratic Party in 2008. She recently landed in hot water after a slip of the tongue on a cable news program.

On June 18, Plaskett appeared on MSNBC to discuss the arrest of former President Donald Trump. During a live segment on the network, the delegate criticized the ex-POTUS for allegedly taking classified information to his Florida resort, where she claims he could have shared it with “anyone and everything.” She said that “should be terrifying to all Americans.”

Then the delegate made a shocking statement that caused a lot of backlash: “He needs to be shot.” Plaskett quickly corrected herself, saying, “stopped.”

Founder of Students for Trump, Ryan Fournier, shared a clip of the interview on Twitter with the caption, “Lock her up.”

Conservative Graham Allen demanded to know why Plaskett isn’t under investigation. Caroline Kane, a Texas congressional candidate, said the delegate “said the quiet part out loud” when she made the mistake. She went on to say that the Democrat should be removed from office because America should “still be a country that doesn’t believe in assassinating its leaders.”

Steve Guest pointed out the outrage there would be if a Republican said something like that. Conservative Jim Hanson sarcastically commented, too:

This isn’t the first time Plaskett has stood in opposition to the former president. In 2021, she was one of the House impeachment managers during Trump’s second impeachment. She accused him of being “singularly responsible” for the January 6, 2021, attack on Congress by his supporters who were hoping to prevent the certification of Joe Biden’s win.
