Democrats Hide Green New Deal In New Bill

( – If you can’t beat ’em, deceive ’em is the new game Democrats are using to push the radical Green New Deal down American throats. In recent weeks, they have schemed a plan to use COVID-19, the tax code, and infrastructure to sneak in the environmentalist’s dream plan. If they are doing nothing else, Democrats are signaling exactly how they will govern if they win the House, Senate, and White House in November.

Markets have warmed up to renewable energy without the weight of the government to force its implementation, and it’s become nearly one-fifth of the electricity produced in the United States. Companies are investing in the industry without any support from the government because there are common-sense solutions that the public wants, they can now afford, and are becoming profitable.

The Tax Code Is a Cover for the Green New Deal

However, that isn’t enough for far-left Democrats who want a government solution to their environmental movement that would destroy jobs and significantly harm the economy. Instead, they want the weight of the government to force environmental change in their mold and they’ll use any means necessary to achieve their objectives. They discovered the best method is to use the tax code as a cover.

At this point, those on the far-left don’t care what it’s called. They care about finding ways to achieve their radical goals.

It’s an easy measure for Democrats to pass without Republican support if they have a simple majority in the House and Senate, and hold the presidency. All they need to do is force a budget reconciliation with the Senate. Then, to pass, it only requires 51 votes in the Senate.

This is the exact process Democrats used to pass Obamacare.

Current Democratic Proposals

Last week, the House passed the $500 billion “Moving Forward Act.” It sounds good, right?

The bill proposes using tax credits to promote renewable energy and force the deployment of zero-emission vehicles – which are not widespread or commonly available. The bill’s sponsor, Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), said, “it’s a down payment on our work to tackle climate change and pass on a better world to our children and grandchildren.”

The bill would also create a tax credit for environmental justice programs at colleges and universities. In essence, indoctrinate the kids and you’ll change the future. We’ve seen this effectively play out over the last 30 years.

Of course, using the tax code to push an agenda isn’t enough for them. Democrats are also adding Green New Deal initiatives as part of the requirements for an infrastructure plan that would require states to set greenhouse gas emission standards. They are tying it to funding for hospitals, schools, and highway projects.

Republicans Are on to the Fraud

President Trump said the bill won’t go anywhere. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said there is “zero interest in bringing it to the Senate for a vote.”

Democrats know they can’t pass it right now. However, they are playing a long game and hope to mobilize environmental voters. They are signaling that they are serious and will pass radical Green New Deal legislation if constituents give Democrats the green light.

Expect the Green New Deal to become a significant campaign issue in the election this fall leading up to the November election. The question is whether or not enough Americans agree with a radical government agenda or a reasonable market-based approach.

For now, Democrats are trying to sneak certain measures into law unless they can get the majority in the House and Senate to blatantly do it next year.
