Democrats Prove They Made Up Impeachment Charges

On Wednesday, Dec. 18th, Democrats in the House impeached President Donald Trump on a rushed party-line vote on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Then, on Thursday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and leading House Democrats said they may not forward the articles of impeachment to the Senate unless they get what they want.

Let’s get this straight… Democrats said they had to force the impeachment quickly because the president is already rigging the 2020 election, yet now they are in no hurry?

Where did that come from?

Throughout the House impeachment hearings, Democrats were unable to communicate a coherent, consistent, or reasonable reason for impeachment. The first charge they alleged was quid pro quo. Then it morphed into bribery. When that didn’t work it became extortion. When that didn’t work, the charges had to go to vague so they could support any reason they wanted to impeach Trump.

TEST

What a mess!

This impeachment was never about Ukraine. It was about revenge. Maybe more than that, it’s about a belief by big government, big-spending liberals, and socialists that they know what’s better for us than we do for ourselves.

Democrats believe they have to take care of us and make decisions for us because those who voted for Trump don’t know any better. They never understood why people voted for Trump and they never will. They don’t want to understand.

Democrats Have Been in Denial Since 2015

In the late fall of 2015, I was at a business lunch in D.C. and people couldn’t believe Trump was even in the race. I told them he was going to win the primary. Shocked that I said so, one of my colleagues claimed it would never happen and she asked how I could make such a claim.

TEST

It’s simple:

  • When people’s health insurance was wrecked by Obamacare
  • When they are told they are going to pay for something whether they want it or not
  • When manufacturing plants are sitting empty and idle with no work
  • TEST
  • When 93 million people are out of work or can’t find a reasonable job to provide for themselves or their families

That’s when she stopped me. She claimed I was lying even though I brought the number up on my phone directly from the Labor Department website. She said that’s nearly one-third of our country and there is no way.

When I asked if she had talked to one person in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas… I got a stone face.

It’s the same people who support impeachment and voted for out-of-touch Democrats who have to make up articles of impeachment because the facts don’t matter. They think they know better than everyone else even when the facts say something different right in front of their faces. The bad orange man has to go at all costs.

This Impeachment Process Is a Mockery

In the process of the sham impeachment, Democrats have severely divided the country and called into question even further the institution of Congress.

Now, they want to make an even further mockery out of impeachment by saying Senate Republicans must give them what they want or they won’t send the articles over for a trial. The Constitution does not give the Speaker the right to hold the Senate in contempt.

This proves once and for all that the impeachment was a witch hunt and that the one abusing power was not the president: it’s Congress.

If Democrats Don’t Forward Articles of Impeachment, Is Trump Impeached?

In an op-ed this morning in Bloomberg, Harvard Law Professor Noah Feldman said:

“If the House does not communicate its impeachment to the Senate, it hasn’t actually impeached the president. If the articles are not transmitted, Trump could legitimately say that he wasn’t truly impeached at all.”

By playing games, Pelosi and the Democrats are continuing to set a very dangerous precedent. They are not in charge of the Senate, and it’s the Senate’s obligation to try the president in whatever form it sees fit as an independent body and as a check and balance on the House.

The temper tantrum by House Democrats proves once and for all that they never had a case. If they believed they sufficiently made the case, then send it to the Senate. If the Senate never has a trial, then any charges against the president will just sit there forever.

That wouldn’t be Constitutional.

But, it doesn’t appear that Democrats care much about the Constitution unless it justifies their beliefs and actions.
