(UnitedVoice.com) – For the last decade or more, California has led the way in far-left policies. It’s hard to imagine why anyone would want to emulate a one-party state that is failing on so many levels. However, one California newspaper says that is exactly what Joe Biden plans to do.
From July 1, 2019, to July 1, 2020, the state lost 135,600 residents who moved to conservative states. Even big companies like Oracle, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Tesla, led by Elon Musk, are in on the migration. It remains to be seen whether Biden will have Congressional support to enact the very Californian policies that many say are failing them.
What’s Driving California’s Exodus?
There’s no one thing driving the exodus from California. On energy policy, California enacted the strongest regulations on fossil fuels in the nation. California is your place if you want to pay for some of the most expensive utility rates and gasoline prices in the country. If you enjoy rolling blackouts during heat waves, it’s a wonderful place to live. The reality is, Democrats in the state are cracking down hard on clean energy, emissions reductions, and carbon prices — and people can’t afford the far-left policies.
Unfortunately, energy isn’t the only area where California is unfriendly. It’s virtually every business, large or small, as well. High taxes and crushing regulations and restrictions are making it more difficult to remain profitable.
While we’re at it, let’s not forget California’s response to COVID-19, which has been one of the harshest in the nation. Yet, California currently enjoys the highest infection rates in the country. In Florida, the restrictions are minimal, and yet the infection rate is not as high by comparison. That’s led Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) to face a potential recall over his controversial handling of the pandemic.
One could also mention the mismanagement of the state’s forests, contributing to large wildfires, chronic homelessness, and a general sense that the state is headed in the wrong direction, as other factors causing a mass exodus.
Why Is ANYONE Copying California?
These are the policies a Biden/Harris administration wants to emulate? On Sunday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said he’s got a fight on his hands in the Senate Budget Committee. Indeed, he does. At question: Will moderate Democrats in the House and Senate go along with the potential insanity about to grip the country?
Things are about to get interesting, stay tuned.
