The Democrats have finally gotten as tired of Hillary Clinton as the rest of us.
Even after her spectacular loss in 2016, Clinton refused to say that she wouldn’t run again in 2020. While infighting is a common occurrence in the Democratic Party as of late, multiple high-profile Dems spoke out against the idea that she should try to run again next year.
“I don’t think it would be good for her. She’s been through this war once. The Republicans have made a target out of her for 30 years and she’s still going to [be] that same target. I just think it would be tough.”
-Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT)
-Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV)
“That would be a mistake, that would be a mistake.”
-Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-NM)
One person stoking the flames of gossip that Clinton might try to run is her longtime aide, Philippe Reines. During a recent interview, he refused to say she wouldn’t run and even said that she might be the best person to go against President Trump.
Clinton added to the rumors herself when she replied to a tweet from President Trump that she should go against Sen. Elizabeth Warren for the nomination. Clinton’s response? “Don’t tempt me.”
Hopefully, she’ll listen to her fellow Democrat cronies and bow out gracefully.
