Denied Communion at Catholic Church

Presidential-hopeful Joe Biden has been very open about his pro-choice views on abortion. Although this might help him gain support from Democratic voters, it’s apparently causing problems in his personal life.

Over the weekend, Biden attended church while on a campaign stop. The priest at St. Anthony Catholic Church is aware of Biden’s support of abortion and denied him the opportunity to take Holy Communion. Receiving the sacraments is an important aspect to people practicing the Catholic faith.

The priest, Rev. Robert Morey made a statement on Monday. He admitted that he refused to let Biden receive Holy Communion and followed up with:

“Holy Communion signifies we are one with God, each other and the Church. Our actions should reflect that. Any public figure who advocates for abortion places himself or herself outside of Church teaching. As a priest, it is my responsibility to minister to those souls entrusted to my care, and I must do so even in the most difficult situations. I will keep Mr. Biden in my prayers.”

Biden has refused to comment on the incident.
