DeSantis and Campaign Crew Involved in Car Crash

(UnitedVoice.com) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is currently traveling the country in the hope of becoming the GOP nominee for president. The conservative is polling behind former President Donald Trump but is doing what he can. Recently, the governor managed to escape injury when an accident occurred while he was on his way to an event.

On Tuesday, July 25, DeSantis and his team were in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to go to a fundraiser when they were involved in an accident. The New York Times reported a spokesperson for the Chattanooga Police Department said the governor’s four-car motorcade was behind a Tennessee Highway Patrol vehicle when the officer braked suddenly. The lead car in the motorcade stopped in time, but the others couldn’t. All four vehicles were involved in the crash, but none of the others on the road were hit.

Kevin West, a spokesperson for the police, stated that he didn’t think DeSantis’ team was “going real fast” at the time of the crash. Nonetheless, three of the vehicles involved had to be towed from the scene. Medical personnel assessed the members of the governor’s team on site, and everyone was cleared to leave. One campaign staffer suffered minor injuries but didn’t require a trip to the hospital.

Bryan Griffin, a spokesman for DeSantis’ campaign, released a statement saying the governor was involved in a car accident, but he and his team didn’t suffer any injuries. He thanked everyone who sent their thoughts and prayers.

DeSantis went on to attend the fundraiser, which was held at the home of donor Lucy Pratt. She told the Times that the governor arrived in seemingly good spirits to the event. She said he spoke to those gathered, and everyone “had a delightful morning.”

The Florida governor is currently trailing Trump in the polls and donations. If he intends to win the nomination, he’ll need to continue attending these events and convince people he’s the right man for the job.
