Despite Rumors, Charges Have Not Been Dropped Against Paul Pelosi

Pelosi Family RUMOR Is Fake – Not True!

(UnitedVoice.com) – Over the decades, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and her wealthy husband, Paul, have endured their moments of intrigue and scandal. Now, it appears that Paul is in a bit of a pickle with law enforcement. Around 11:45 p.m. on May 28, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported a 2014 Jeep hit Pelosi’s 2021 Porsche. Police didn’t arrest the other driver and didn’t report any injuries. Oddly enough, Pelosi posted a $5,000 bond the next morning. Apparently, the police arrested him for driving under the influence (DUI).

As time passed, many began to wonder if the prosecutors were about to go light on the husband of, arguably, the most powerful woman in America. Shortly after his arrest, rumors floated that prosecutors were letting the 82-year-old off the hook. Based on new information, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Questions About Political Favoritism

On Wednesday, June 8, the Miami Standard reported Pelosi was charged with DUI and driving with a blood alcohol content above 0.08. Still, the CHP hasn’t provided any dashcam or bodycam video footage of the arrest to the media. That’s led to all kinds of conspiracy theories and questions about whether prosecutors will follow through with charges and, if not, whether they’re granting him a special case of political favoritism.

Even Donald Trump, Jr. got in on the action. The son of the 45th president tweeted on June 6, opining the CHP won’t release the video footage because the video evidence would make dropping the charges difficult.

On June 8, Trump announced prosecutors wouldn’t play by the rules and allegedly dropped the charges against Paul Pelosi.

Paul Pelosi Not Off the Hook

On Tuesday, June 14, a local television station looked into whether prosecutors have dropped the case against Pelosi. King5 reported prosecutors didn’t drop the charges and also noted that contrary to some online statements, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) wasn’t involved in the case in any capacity.

However, the NBC affiliate stated prosecutors can’t drop charges they haven’t filed yet. They explained under California law, prosecutors couldn’t charge Pelosi until the court arraigns him, which is currently scheduled for August. Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley told reporters the case is still under review, and prosecutors will decide what charges they’ll file against Pelosi.

Speaker Pelosi hasn’t commented on her husband’s legal situation and was in Florida at the time of his arrest. Still, on Monday, the Napa County Department of Corrections released the image of Pelosi’s booking.

There may be new revelations in the weeks or months to come.
