Did the Chauvin Conviction Prove Democrats Wrong?

(UnitedVoice.com) – For over a year and beyond, Joe Biden and some in the Democratic Party took license with identity politics. It’s still ongoing. In the wake of the conviction of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin for murdering George Floyd, some Democrats are telling the country that while the conviction is a good start, it’s still systematically racist. Influential leaders like President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) are fighting racism as if it’s still the 1960s in America. They would know because they were there.

Times change and America is no longer the same country. America even voted for a Black president. Not once but twice. Yet, the Democratic leaders in America, and the media, continue to say that the institutions of government, society, law enforcement, and the judicial system are “systematically” racist. However, did Chauvin’s conviction prove them wrong?

Democrats Continue Systematic Racism and No Justice Under the Law Narrative

The conviction of Chauvin demonstrates that the Constitution works. However, after the conviction, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris ran to the microphones to exclaim that systematic racism is alive and well. Attorney General Merrick Garland said on Monday, April 19, that he doesn’t believe America has equal justice under the law.

What would you call the conviction of Derek Chauvin?

Is There Systematic Racism?

Since 1787, America has believed in Justice for All. It hasn’t always been true. Not for many Whites, Blacks, Asians, or Hispanics. Law enforcement and the judicial system are not the drivers of America’s problems today. The human heart is the problem. No one makes a person break the law or behave in a way that is detrimental to society. It doesn’t matter if they are in law enforcement or if they are a citizen. However, law enforcement does need reforms as society evolves. That will always be true. That doesn’t mean the police are systematically racist.

With that said, racism exists, and it’s not a one-sided affair. There shouldn’t be any room or tolerance for racism, prejudice, or discrimination. In fact, that’s already the law of the land and has been for some time. If that’s true, how can the system be racist?

Democrats Hijack Social Justice for Political Gain

President Biden said something revealing in his press conference on Tuesday. He stated there are good police officers, and in the next breath, called police systematically racist. How can those two things co-exist? It’s simple. They can’t. It’s a complete contradiction.

The Democrats claim to be the party of social justice, but are they?

Or, are they opportunists seeking political capital?

The rush to be heard makes it clear that Democrats are willing to use race labels to justify themselves to voters. However, if the Chauvin case proved one thing, it’s this; The Constitution works. The system arrested a police officer for alleged wrongdoing, tried him by a jury of his peers and convicted him of three crimes. Enough dispelling of untruths that there isn’t justice under the law.

To be sure, there are problems with race relations in America. Healing isn’t a one-sided affair, and our political leaders should be showing us the way. Instead, they undermine the nation’s ability to overcome past challenges and work towards the promise that we can build a more perfect union.

We should expect more of our leaders. Perhaps it’s time for America to show them the way, choose to heal, and stop rewarding the politicians who use race as a tool for political gain.

The judicial system works, and it proved Democrats wrong.
