The name of the new educational initiative is Grow U. Employees will be able to register for college courses on their first day through about 30 different learning institutions that have partnered with the company. They will be able to study everything from marketing to finance. Over 100 degrees are covered. For those who prefer to get another type of degree like one in art design or hospitality, they can qualify for up to $5,250 to offset the cost.
A spokesperson for Dollywood Co, Wes Ramey, said the company wants to make the employees feel appreciated because when they feel appreciated, they “can pass that feeling on to their guests.” He said Dolly is very supportive of the people who work for her company and wants to see them continue to grow.
