(UnitedVoice.com) – Former President Trump has called on Arizona’s governor to protect the team carrying out a new audit of the state’s disputed general election results. The ballot probe, ordered by the Arizona Senate, has infuriated Democrats – and Trump is worried about just how far they’ll go to stop it.
Last week, in the face of obstruction from county officials, a team of outside auditors began a hand recount of ballots cast in Maricopa County – the state’s most populous – last November. After the board of supervisors refused to let them use a county facility for the audit, the team was forced to rent a stadium and truck tons of ballot papers and voting machines there. Democrats have tried to get a court to stop the count, but, refused to pay the bond the judge asked for.
Now Trump says Governor Doug Ducey needs to deploy either state troopers or National Guardsmen to protect the audit workers. “The Democrats do not want to have this information revealed,” he said, “and they will do anything to stop it.” He then told Ducey he needs to act now to provide security.
