(UnitedVoice.com) – Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R) is not one of former President Donald Trump’s favorite people, to put it mildly. The two men sparred after the 2020 election and their relationship never recovered. The former POTUS is now making a big investment in the race to replace Kemp.
Trump’s Save America PAC recently transferred $500,000 to another PAC that’s trying to get Kemp out of office. It’s the first major donation the former president’s political operation has made in the midterm elections. He has sent small donations to candidates he’s endorsed in the past, but nothing as large as this one. Kemp is up against former Senator David Perdue in the primary election.
NEW: Trump is digging into his massive. $110 million war chest for the first time – spending to take down Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, an indication he’s willing to invest to take down his adversaries https://t.co/gHa0MFkxyf

In February, Trump endorsed Perdue in the gubernatorial race. He called the former senator “an outstanding man” who is smart and tough. Perdue has called his fight against Kemp a “referendum choice to Republicans” to find out who they believe will beat Democratic powerhouse Stacey Abrams in the fall.
Kemp angered many Conservatives in the wake of the 2020 election because he refused to entertain voter fraud allegations. President Joe Biden was the first Democrat to win the state since former President Bill Clinton’s 1992 election. Trump also believes Kemp is the reason the Republican Party lost both of its Senate seats last year. Now, he’s showing the governor just how serious he is about ridding the Peach State of him by putting his money where his mouth is.
