WATCH: Dr. Oz SHOCKER – Health Emergency Reported
(UnitedVoice.com) – Dr. Mehmet Oz rose to fame after appearing on Oprah Winfrey’s television show many times. The retired cardiothoracic surgeon is now running to represent Pennsylvania in the US Senate, but it was his medical experience that took center stage at a recent event.
On September 10, Oz held a campaign rally in Bucks County. While backstage, a woman reportedly collapsed nearby. According to reporters at the event, the doctor rushed to his supporter’s aid, jumping over a rail to get to her. Photos of the incident show him standing over the woman, trying to help her.
Medics at a @DrOz event wheeled out a woman who appeared to collapse near the stage. Oz rushed in from backstage and stayed with her until the stretcher came.

A spokesperson for Oz’s campaign later said he assessed the woman while they waited for paramedics to arrive. She was alert and conscious as first responders took her out of the rally.

The incident on Saturday wasn’t the first time Dr. Oz has helped someone who was experiencing a medical emergency outside of office hours. In 2021, a man collapsed in a baggage claim area at Newark Liberty International Airport. The man was reportedly foaming at the mouth and bleeding from his head. He wasn’t breathing, and the doctor told “Good Morning America’s” Robin Roberts he couldn’t find a pulse. He helped law enforcement perform CPR on the man, who eventually stabilized and received transport to a hospital.
