Durham Ramps Up Investigations into FBI and Spy Agencies

(UnitedVoice.com) – The investigations into the origin of the Russian hoax and misbehavior by senior government officials are gearing up. Last year, Attorney General William Barr appointed US Attorney John Durham to lead the investigation into the FBI’s counterintelligence operation against the Trump campaign. Despite the nation being on lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Durham has been ramping up.

According to multiple sources, a grand jury has been impaneled and Durham is now adding more investigators, which suggests he’s discovered something substantial that would require additional help.

Intelligence Agencies and FBI Misconduct

Last fall, Inspector General Michael Horowitz laid out a potential criminal case in a report submitted to Congress. In one instance, the IG said that an FBI lawyer fraudulently changed a FISA court document to deceive the court. Additionally, former CIA Director John Brennan, former FBI Director James Comey, and former Assistant FBI Director Andrew McCabe lied to Congress in sworn testimony.

Through most of Trump’s presidency, it’s alleged that the FBI and CIA attempted to prevent Trump’s election. If that failed, they’d derail the Trump presidency. Congressional Democrats fell for the trap and pursued every option to impeach Trump for two and a half years.

In November, the House of Representatives impeached the president on two baseless charges. One was abuse of power and the other obstruction of Congress relating to a call between Trump and the president of Ukraine. The Senate dismissed the charges.

In December 2019, Durham interviewed National Security Agency (NSA) chief Adm. Mike Rogers. Rogers informed the FISA Court and the NSA Inspector General that the FBI was in violation of the law by improperly searching for information on Americans. It appears that Durham’s focus is putting scrutiny on Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. Specifically, whether or not they exerted political pressure on the intelligence community’s assessment of Russian interference. Durham interviewed CIA agents and analysts from the NSA and FBI last fall and winter.

Last week, it was revealed in a bombshell report that the FBI had no reason to investigate National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and that they set a trap for him. Initially, FBI investigators concluded that there was no viable path to continue investigating. Yet, FBI leadership changed the report and pressured Flynn into a plea agreement that he lied to investigators. Flynn has since pulled his guilty plea.

Handwritten notes unsealed by US District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan reveal part of the extent the FBI was using Flynn as an object to get to President Trump.

Before the report was released about Flynn, Durham reviewed the files. On Saturday, Fox News reported that AG Barr regularly talks with Durham and that the DOJ is building a “serious case.” Charges could be filed soon.

This is an evolving story, so check back as this develops.
