(UnitedVoice.com) – At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Democrats pushed hard for lockdowns. Many states followed the Left’s plan, shut down businesses and schools and brought their economies to a halt. It was a disastrous plan. Millions of Americans lost their jobs. New exit polling data from the 2020 election shows many people voted to re-elect the president because of the coronavirus.
According to a New York Times exit poll, 50% of voters said they believed Donald Trump will handle the economy better. The majority of Trump’s voters said rebuilding the economy now is more important than containing the virus. They also believe his efforts to control COVID-19 are going well.
The Guardian reported voters were especially worried about more lockdowns.

The early lockdowns hurt American families, so it makes sense they wouldn’t want a repeat. Many businesses closed permanently, and others are hanging on by the skin of their teeth. Stopping the economy again would devastate the country, and voters knew that.
