(UnitedVoice.com) – In May, AT&T announced it would be merging one of its companies, WarnerMedia, with Discovery. The merger will form a separate media company that brings together HBO, the Warner Bros. studio, Discovery’s channels and CNN. Billionaire John Malone has said there was some talk about what to do with the liberal-leaning news network but he ultimately decided to keep it. However, he has some plans for the channel former President Donald Trump dubbed “fake news.”
In an interview with CNBC, Malone said there was talk about selling CNN off but he ultimately decided it would have been a “coward’s way out.” The Liberty Media chairman went on to say he believes “good journalism could have a role” at the company. He wants to see CNN get back to how the network started and “actually have journalists.”

CNN’s had a rough time in the last year. The network’s ratings decreased more than 50%. Some media experts have wondered if the plummeting ratings had anything to do with the fact its pundits aren’t kicking Trump around every day. When the former president left the White House, he took the network’s ratings with him.
With the new media company deal in the works, but about a year from completion, it’ll be interesting to see what happens to CNN. Will it become less biased toward the Left?
