GOP Leaders Ask the Secret Service Some Tough Questions

GOP Leaders Ask for Secret Service to Take Action

( – Two Republican senators are pushing for federal law enforcement to open their files on a stolen handgun that belonged to Hunter Biden, the president’s controversial son. The weapon was returned days later, but now GOP leaders want to know if there was a cover-up already in play.

On October 23, 2019. Hallie Biden, Hunter’s girlfriend at the time – and also the widow of his older brother Beau – called Delaware cops to say she’d stolen Biden’s gun and thrown it in a trash can across the road from a high school; when she went back later to get it, it was gone. The FBI and ATF investigated, and according to Politico, the Secret Service was also involved.

Hallie Biden told the FBI she got rid of the gun because she was afraid Hunter, an alcoholic drug user – who lied about his substance abuse when he bought the .38 revolver – would use it to harm himself or her children. The FBI and ATF started a search for the gun, but it was returned before they found it. Interestingly, while they were searching, two Secret Service agents allegedly visited the store where Hunter had bought the gun and said they wanted to take the purchase records. The store owner, suspecting the paperwork would “disappear” if the gun was later used in a crime, refused.

Now, Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Ron Johnson (R-WI) want to know what the FBI and ATF reported about the incident – and why the Secret Service was apparently involved. President Biden has denied the Secret Service turned up to the incident, as does the agency itself, but there are a lot of questions that need answering.
