(UnitedVoice.com) – Michigan residents aren’t currently happy with Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D). She’s enforcing some of the toughest and longest-standing coronavirus restrictions in the country. Her strict stay-at-home order is causing many residents to lose money. Now one man is facing unfair consequences for defying the governor.
Karl Manke, 77, is a barber in the state. He violated Whitmer’s orders by opening his business earlier this month. On May 8, he told a local journalist that he needed the money, and he wasn’t going to “rollover.”

In response, Attorney General Dana Nessel filed for a restraining order against Manke. A judge refused to grant it because he said the business owner has a right to defend himself. In order to get around the judge’s order, the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs suspended the barber’s license.
Michigan officials violated his rights in order to enforce a draconian stay-at-home order from the governor. This seems to be exactly the kind of abuse of power US Attorney General William Barr has been warning about. The question is: What is going to be done about it?
