(UnitedVoice.com) – Politicians across the US implemented countless regulations during the pandemic in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19. Mask mandates were among those. One governor is now fighting back against those restrictions.
On May 18, Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) issued an executive order prohibiting governmental entities in the state from issuing or enforcing mask mandates. As of May 21, local governments and officials who try to force people to wear masks will be fined up to $1,000. For schools, the mandates end on June 4. Government-owned hospitals and assisted living facilities along with jails and prisons are all exempt from the order.
TX is prohibiting mask mandates by gov’t entities.
Starting May 21, local govts attempting to impose mask mandates can be fined up to $1K.
We're also prohibiting public schools from mandating masks after June 4.

At this point, everyone knows what to do to keep themselves safe. Abbott wants to give people the freedom to choose how to best do that in his state. After all, the US is the land of the free and its citizens should not be forced to wear anything they don’t want to.
