(UnitedVoice.com) – In 2020, cities across the country experienced sustained rioting from far-left activists for months. Businesses and government property were destroyed. People died and officers were injured during the riots. One lawmaker thinks that’s the reason so many families set out to protect themselves.
During an interview with Newsmax TV on March 9, Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC) said he believes the riots led to skyrocketing gun sales in 2020. Over the course of a year, there was a 60% increase in the sale of firearms — which equates to about 21 million weapons.
Hudson said he watched “cities burning” every night on television. He saw rioting, looting and the “defund the police movement gaining steam.” The congressman explained that it makes sense that the American people would take “legal measures to protect themselves.”
Congressman Hudson has also been lashing out at the Democratic Party’s gun control efforts.
Last week, House Democrats voted to defund police. This week, they are voting on anti-gun bills that threaten your Second Amendment – just a few reasons why HR 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, is needed now more than ever.

The fact that the Left has now introduced bills to restrict gun rights, after the violence the country witnessed, is disturbing. Currently, however, there is very little Dems can do because the filibuster will prevent them from passing the legislation in the Senate. Those who support Second Amendment rights have a way to protect their freedoms, though. The midterms are less than two years away — begin organizing and vote the radical lawmakers out of office.
