(UnitedVoice.com) – The US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June, ending decades of federal protection for abortion. In the wake of the ruling, dozens of states have implemented restrictions or bans on the procedure. The country’s direction has failed 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton so upset she has now compared the country to nations with terrorists.
On Friday, December 2, Clinton spoke at the Women’s Voices Summit in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the Clinton Presidential Library. According to Fox News, she said that it was “shocking” that America is “related to poor Afghanistan and Sudan.” She added the US has a very “advanced economy,” but it is “rightly put with” the terrorist nations.
Clinton claimed there’s a struggle taking place in the US “between autocracy and democracy.” She called for better healthcare for women, especially for people of color who are at higher risk for complications.
Former State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus called Clinton out for her remarks during an interview on Fox News’s “Hannity.” She called the comparison “utterly ridiculous” and said women in Afghanistan “aren’t allowed to work, that aren’t [sic] allowed to go to school” in the country. Meanwhile, in Sudan, women are “struggling for basic rights and food.”
Last night on @seanhannity I challenged @HillaryClinton for her comments comparing women in America to the real plight of women in Afghanistan and Sudan. She knows better. pic.twitter.com/8gusqRJoeo
