Hollywood Producer Arrested on 18 Counts of Assault
(UnitedVoice.com) – A few years ago, the #MeToo and Time’s Up Movements swept through Hollywood. A court convicted one of the most famous producers in the world, Harvey Weinstein, of sexual assault and sent him to prison. Now, another producer stands accused of rape.
On October 4, Los Angeles police arrested Eric Weinberg on 18 counts of sexual assault, including forced oral copulation, false imprisonment, rape, sexual battery, assault by means to cause bodily harm, and other crimes. His crimes reportedly took place between 2012 and 2019.
D.A. Gascón announced today that television producer Eric Weinberg has been charged in an 18-count complaint for sexually assaulting five women at different times between 2014 and 2019.

Five women made allegations dating back to 2014 leading to the charges. A court set a $5-million bail on October 5 and released him on bond that afternoon despite prosecutors’ pleas he should remain in pre-trial detention.
Attorney Micha Star Liberty, who represents several alleged victims, released a statement to the Los Angeles Times saying she wouldn’t “rest until there is justice.” She expressed gratitude to Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón that a “horrific impact inflicted upon” the women through Weinberg’s alleged assaults won’t go unanswered.
Gascón said communities must enhance their efforts to “protect women and girls.” He added society has just accepted rape as something “women must guard against.” Dozens have come forward and identified themselves as victims.
Gascón asks anyone with information about the case to contact investigators at (323) 561-3272 or the LADA’s Bureau of Victim Services at (800) 380-3811. They can also email at [email protected]
