(UnitedVoice.com) – The last year and a half has been hard on nearly everyone, but certainly healthcare workers more than most. Now one hospital employee is doing his best to bring people some joy.
One morning at about 3 a.m., Danielle Herby was at work at the HealthPark Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida, when she heard music. She walked toward the hospital foyer where she noticed a man wearing scrubs and a mask playing the piano without any sheet music in front of him. Herby took a video of the man and posted it on TikTok. She said she felt “blessed” to hear her fellow healthcare worker play, and shared more videos of him.

The piano man, identified as Shawn Foley, commented under one of the videos, revealing he taught himself how to play the instrument. He played songs from John Legend, Billy Joel and others.
Herby and Foley eventually spoke to each other and did a duet live for her followers. Some of the commenters under the clips of the healthcare worker playing said they began crying when they heard the powerful music. Another commenter said the music would definitely cheer her up if she was in the hospital.
Sometimes, all it takes is something simple to bring so many people joy.
