(UnitedVoice.com) – House Democrats tried and failed to stick it to President Trump last week. In a near party-line vote, the House of Representatives voted to pass a bill that they hoped would limit the president’s ability to fight back against Iran’s aggression. Fortunately, the bill is doomed.
Lawmakers voted 228-175 to pass the No War Against Iran Act. The bill would block funding for military intervention in Iran. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) sponsored the bill and told reporters Congress sought to make it “very clear” that Trump would not be allowed to spend money on a war that is not happening with Iran.
Republicans called the bill “irresponsible.” Although they managed to pass their bill in the House, the chances of it getting a vote in the Senate are about zero.
