ICE Makes Mass Arrests in Midwest

Officers with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) made a series of arrests in the midwest, according to the agency’s September 30, 2019 announcement. Over a 5-day period, the agency took custody of 97 people who had criminal records or were illegal aliens.

The list of criminal convictions rung up by some of these individuals runs from the mild to the disturbing. Some of the lesser felonies include obstruction of justice and resisting officers, while the more heinous acts involved were sexual assault, child exploitation and domestic violence.

A good number of those arrested in this campaign had been deported at least once before after a prior conviction. Reentering the country after deportation is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in federal prison. Other efforts around the country have had similar successes like those detailed in the video below in Texas and California.

On the other side of the coin, progressive Liberals at all levels of government are protecting these criminals by creating so-called sanctuary cities, refusing to cooperate with ICE. In fact, in one stunning case, they went so far as to take punitive action against a police officer for having the temerity to do his duty and contact ICE about an illegal immigrant. Fortunately, sanity reasserted itself in this case, but it should serve as a warning to all of us to where Democrats want to take this country.
