Ilhan Omar BASHES Biden Move – She’s Not Having It!
(UnitedVoice.com) – President Joe Biden continues to make blunders on the international scene. In August 2020, the president mishandled the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, leading some to express concern allies may not be able to trust the United States. As the country struggles with gas supplies, high demand, and continuing high gas prices, the president also turned to OPEC and Saudi Arabia to increase production instead of unleashing US energy companies to deliver for America.
On Friday, July 15, the POTUS visited Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud (MBS). The Wall Street Journal said the “visit was worse than an embarrassment.” In 2020, Biden said during a presidential debate that Saudi Arabia was a “pariah state” for its alleged role in the 2018 murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Ahead of and after the president’s visit, the criticism of the trip was fierce, and far-left Squad member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) wasn’t happy with Biden’s fist bump.

Omar Blasts Biden
The Left is just as unhappy about the president’s visit to Saudi Arabia as the Right. On Sunday, July 17, Omar told MSNBC host Ali Velshi it was disappointing to see him fist bump MBS after calling the Saudi leader a pariah. She said the trip sent the wrong message to those who fight for and uphold human rights.
Omar added the US must stop the hypocrisy. She argued the US says one thing and then does another. In perhaps a new twist in Omar’s time in office, she said something that virtually everyone could agree with by stating the US must be a country that advances democracy. Still, in her view, this trip didn’t accomplish that ideal, warning the US must take a firm stance even when it’s difficult.
Others criticized Biden’s visit with MBS as well. Former US Diplomat Aaron David Miller told Insider the president’s visit sent a strong message to the world: it’s now okay to conduct business with Saudi Arabia. The New York Times said the president got nothing, and MBS received the rehabilitation he sought.
Fist Bump Seen Around the World Went Wrong
Once again, a single action by the president overrode any narrative the White House wanted to put out. Not only did Biden give MBS what he wanted from the moment he stepped out of the presidential limousine, but the Saudi leader rebuffed him several times.
The Crown Prince denied that Biden ever confronted him about Khashoggi. The president alleged MBS was lying. Making matters worse, the Wall Street Journal noted the trip damaged US relations in the Middle East. It said gulf state leaders don’t trust the United States under Biden and won’t sacrifice for the US, especially after the commander-in-chief walked away from Afghanistan as he did.
So, does Omar have a good reason to be upset?
