In What Election Reality Did the Squad Win?

( – Universal government-run health care, the Green New Deal, free college, and student debt elimination all have one thing in common. They are far-left policies championed by “the squad” that could cost upwards of $100 trillion over ten years. If one listens to Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-NY), the four of them would have the country believe they are the ones America is clamoring to follow.

On Thursday, November 19, members of the squad held a miniature rally outside of the Democratic National Committee in Washington, DC. They not only advocated for their out-of-touch policies; they acted like they were the majority of America. What reality are they living in?

In the election a few weeks ago, the four leftist Democrats doubled their ranks by winning in hotbed Democratic districts. However, that pales in comparison to what Republicans achieved across the country. Unlike their Democrat colleagues in the House who lost seats, Republican incumbents didn’t lose one seat. Instead, they increased their numbers, gifting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) with the slimmest majority in over a century. Additionally, Republicans are expected to hold the Senate. Plus, Republicans expanded their numbers in state legislatures across the country as well.

Out-of-Touch Squad Makes Demands

During the summer, then-Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden struck deals with socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) and Ocasio-Cortez (AOC). He knew to defeat President Trump, he would need to dance with the devil. President Trump and Republicans warned us that Biden was no centrist and would be beholden to the far left.

Now, the group is demanding that Biden pay them back as it appears more likely every day the former vice president will be sworn into office in January. The group used the hashtag #BidenBeBrave to apply pressure to him. They don’t trust that the potential president-elect will maintain his end of the bargain despite agreeing to many of their demands last summer in exchange for their support.

Of course, the slim margins in the House, moderate Democrats who are spooked about far-left policies after almost losing their elections, and a Republican-led Senate will actually determine what bills get passed into law. The squad’s demands may be nothing more than empty noise, but that won’t stop them from making demands.

Green New Deal

On Thursday, the squad demanded that Biden implement the Green New Deal and transform the US economy.

In language rarely used for a tiny minority of members of Congress, AOC claimed that the movement demanded action and that “dollars don’t vote, people do.”

Biden Owes Black Americans

AOC-backed Congressman-elect Jamaal Brown (D-NY) suggested that any Green New Deal money passed should be largely distributed to black communities for their efforts to elect Biden. It seems a few years ago that the Democrat rage against Donald Trump was quid pro quo. Perhaps that’s not relevant anymore?

Regardless, Brown said, “Black and brown communities organized across the country to make sure Joe Biden won the White House, and he did that, but now it’s time for payback. And now it’s time to make sure that we invest the resources necessary to rebuild our nation in a way that is representative of all of us, so we can truly have the people’s house.”

The far-left of the Democratic Party believes they have a mandate from the voters. The squad is absolutely right. There is a mandate. It’s just not theirs. America elected Republicans in sweeping numbers across the country to stop the advancement of the far-left agenda. Moderate Democrats spoke up after the election and said the talk of socialism had to stop, or they would lose more elections in 2022.

It appears the squad didn’t get the message.
