Iran Claims $400 Million was Ransom Payment, U.S. Denying It

Released video by Iranian state-run media in Tehran shows the arrival of a January 17 flight carrying $400 million in cash from the United States.
The video not only shows the money but also states their demands for the release of 7 Iranian prisoners in the United States. Another Iranian demand was to lift sanctions on 16 Iranians who were prosecuted by the U.S. legal system with unjust excuse of sanction violations.
The video claims that they got all of that in exchange for 4 American prisoners. They say it was a deal that benefits the Islamic Republic and hurts the United States.
In the end, even if it wasn’t a ransom payment by the United States, the way the matter was handled has given Iran the impression that it was a “ransom” payment (that’s how they’re reporting it in the media).
The mere perception of the U.S. paying ransom money in exchange for American lives could put many at risk all over the world. Do you think it could’ve been handled better by the Obama Administration? Do you think this will put more American lives at risk? You decide.
