(UnitedVoice.com) – President Biden is pushing to loosen sanctions on Iran, in a throwback to the Obama administration’s failed policies. Unfortunately for the floundering president, the evidence is that current sanctions aren’t tight enough.
Iranian Nationals Charged with Conspiring to Evade U.S. Sanctions on Iran by Disguising $300 Million in Transactions Over Two Decades https://t.co/FbF2dM27LB

On March 20, the Justice Department filed charges against ten Iranian sanction busters. According to the DOJ, the accused have managed to do $300 million worth of business, and they’ve been at it for over 20 years. Prosecutors say their activities include buying two oil tankers for $25 million each, and they’ve been using more than 70 front companies to hide what they’re up to. It’s a huge and sophisticated illicit business network, run by a regime that sponsors terrorism and wants nuclear weapons.
Now the suspects face up to 20 years in prison, and they’re also facing fines of $157 million. Unfortunately, easing sanctions will just make it easier for people like this to operate – and keep pumping money into Iran’s terror groups and weapons programs. Many in Washington will be asking if this is the right time to be going easy on Iran – but will President Biden listen?
