Is Biden Playing the Left?

Is Biden Playing the Left?

( – During the 2020 general election, then-Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden fancied himself as a Moderate who defeated the Socialists in the Democratic primary. Yet, since Biden’s inauguration on January 20, he’s gone all-in on the Left’s agenda.

It’s hard to understand what’s really happening. There are a lot of ideas coming out of the Left. However, they are largely infeasible as long as the Senate remains evenly divided, and moderate Democrats from red or deep purple states aren’t totally on board. Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV), Krysten Sinema (D-AZ), and Jon Tester (D-MT) refuse to kill the filibuster, and they are bucking some of the far Left’s agenda.

What if everything America is witnessing is a political game to ensure a second term for Joe Biden or Kamala Harris? It’s completely feasible and possible that Biden is playing the far-left like a fiddle for his own political gain.

Biden Walks the Talk But Is It Real?

Before the Georgia runoff election on January 5, most political pundits expected that only one seat at best would flip from the GOP to Democrats. Instead, Democrats flipped both and, along with their victories, handed the Senate majority over to Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY). Before that, Biden wasn’t planning on the Democratic Senate majority.

What ensued since then is a far-left hostile takeover attempt of America. It’s not surprising and quickly became apparent how much the Left would overreach. The outcome is that the Democrats may get walloped in the 2022 midterms. Biden has been in Washington for nearly fifty years. He has seen this play out many times before.

What if Biden is politically calculating all of this?

Consider for a moment: If the president courts the far-left now and talks in grandiose terms about becoming the next FDR, the Left is excited. However, if America doesn’t embrace ideas including:

  • Increasing the size of the Supreme Court
  • Spending $6 trillion tax dollars
  • Granting statehood to Washington, DC, as the 51st state
  • Increasing the minimum wage to $15 per hour
  • Eliminating right-to-work laws and empowering unions
  • Banning certain guns
  • Passing the Green New Deal
  • Fighting against common-sense voter reform laws

Democrats will be in BIG trouble in the 2022 midterms.

Everything Old Is New Again

This pattern isn’t new, and there is a pattern.

In the 1994 midterms, Republicans earned massive victories in taking back the House for the first time since the 1950s. In 1996, Bill Clinton won re-election. In 2010, House Republicans won in historic numbers to take back control of the lower chamber in the wake of then-President Obama’s signature healthcare reform bill. In 2012, Barack Obama won re-election.

Biden was a US Senator in 1994 and Vice President in 2010. He had a front-row seat to the drama.

Sweeping Republican victories in 2022 would be bad news for House Democrats. However, it could be great news for Joe Biden if the recent historical trend holds. It would allow the president to move back to the center without the pressure from the far-left, who would find themselves neutralized after a momentous defeat.

While this makes some sense, voters may not see things this way in 2024. Biden will be tagged as a far-left extremist, and if this is his game plan, he too could be overreaching. It’s hard to imagine voters giving Joe a pass for making America go through all this for his political gain.

Then again, stranger things have happened. Maybe Biden is bluffing both the Left and the American voter in a high-stakes game of poker?
