(UnitedVoice.com) – For months, Republicans warned that Democrats would move the nation to the left if they secured the House, Senate, and presidency. It’s possible the stars are starting to align, and they’ll be able to fulfill their longstanding dreams. The problem: America is deeply divided. Many are questioning the results of the presidential election, and others are resolute that the election results were above par.
Is America Really Ready to March Left?
In the Georgia runoff election, Decision Desk HQ have projected Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock as the winners against incumbents David Perdue (R-GA) and Kelly Loeffler (R-GA). If it holds up and the two Democrats are certified as winners by state election officials, what is there to stop the far left?
The House is firmly in Democratic hands, albeit with much smaller margins thanks to unexpected Republican victories in November. The Senate could potentially flip based on Georgia’s final outcome, and electoral votes for Joe Biden might be certified by Congress.
If Democrats enjoy a unified government, what’s to stop them from achieving their agenda? Rep. Chris Pappas (D-NH) posted on Twitter how it might look. What he doesn’t mention is government-run healthcare, free college, and college debt reduction…
Flipping the Senate would be huge to get votes on popular bills blocked by Mitch McConnell:
🔹 Equality Act
🔹 Dream Act
🔹 Voting Rights Act
🔹 State and local funding
🔹 Climate action
… the list goes on, and on, and on. America needs this.

Are Things Really as They Appear?
It appears that America is ready to move left. But is it? In races where it mattered across the country, election results were close. There were no runaway’s suggesting a mandate to move the country left. In fact, moderate House Democrats expressed concern after the November election that talk of socialism, defunding the police, and other far-left issues almost cost them their elections. In some cases, Republicans picked up seats in the House on those issues.
In the Georgia Senate runoff election, the two Democrats led by approximately 1% or less of the total vote. Again, that’s hardly a mandate.
Regardless, Democrats are signaling they are ready to spend massive amounts of money transforming government, business, climate, and society. Even if the country rejects their agenda two or four years from now, it will be hard to turn back the dial.
So, while the country may not believe Democrats will go as far left as they indicate, there’s an old saying from Dr. Maya Angelou: “When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.”
It won’t take long to find out.
