(UnitedVoice.com) – Julia Jackson must be considered a remarkable woman by anyone who hears her story. Her son, Jacob Blake, was shot and paralyzed in an altercation with police on Sunday, August 23, sparking riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Yet, at a press conference just a few days later, she was telling those rioters to stop and she called for unity across America.

During an appearance on CNN, she explained she wasn’t home when President Donald Trump tried to call her and she had the grace to apologize to him for it. She took the time to address a few comments directly to him and said, “I have the utmost respect for you as the leader of our country.”
America — the entire world — needs more people like Ms. Jackson who, while facing one of the most horrible things any parent can imagine, did not use her time in front of the cameras to cast blame. Sadly, however, it seems that the closer it gets to November 3, the less likely it is that people will follow her stellar example.
