(UnitedVoice.com) – On Wednesday, June 9, President Joe Biden embarked on his first European trip. He will attend the G-7 Summit over the weekend and during the event, reports indicate he might roll back more of his predecessor’s policies.
In 2018, then-President Donald Trump placed 25% tariffs on steel and 10% on aluminum products imported into the US from European countries, Canada and Mexico. He said he was tired of seeing America taken advantage of and he was going to stop that from happening. The tariffs were also meant to create good-paying jobs in the manufacturing industry. According to a March 2021 report by the Economic Policy Institute, the tariffs were successful — they created more than 3,000 jobs.
Bloomberg reported that Biden might end the tariffs in an attempt to strengthen the bond between the US and its allies. Back at home, however, the Alliance for American Manufacturing and others are reminding Biden that the tariffs do more than create jobs.

In an attempt to please foreign leaders, Biden could destroy thousands of jobs and make the country less safe. It’s time he worries more about the US and less about other countries. After all, the people did elect him to serve America.
