Joe Biden Does the Unthinkable on Trip to Lightfoot's Chicago

(UnitedVoice.com) – On Wednesday, July 7, President Joe Biden touched down in Chicago on his way to a speaking engagement at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, IL. At the airport, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) greeted the president. When the commander-in-chief arrived at his event, he didn’t discuss what was on a lot of people’s minds: the increase in violence. Instead, he talked about infrastructure and his American Family Plan.

Biden’s visit to the area came just a few days after one of the bloodiest weekends in Chicago’s history. Over the 4th of July holiday, more than 100 people were shot, including nearly a dozen kids. At least 18 people lost their lives.

One of those victims was a 20-year-old college student who was interning at an investment firm. Max Lewis was riding the train when someone shot him in the neck. The bullet left him paralyzed from the neck down and his parents removed him from life support after he communicated a message by blinking. He said, “If I have to live like this, pull the plug please. Seriously.”

In June, the Chicago Sun-Times reported that kids in the city are dying at a faster rate than in the past. At that time, 52 kids under the age of 15 had been shot and 10 died in 2021. Those numbers have increased since then.

In light of what is happening in the Chicago area, it seems incredibly tone-deaf that Biden went to one of the city’s suburbs and completely ignored the real problem: dead Americans.
