(UnitedVoice.com) – The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been arresting and detaining the Uyghur Muslims in its country since 2014. Former President Donald Trump’s administration declared the actions by China a genocide. However, President Joe Biden is not responding in the same way.
A month into Biden’s presidency, he’s still not declared the atrocities the CCP is committing against the Uyghur people a genocide. In fact, during a February 16 CNN town hall, the president said there are different cultural “norms” in countries when discussing the treatment of the Muslim minorities. Boris Epshteyn, an adviser to Trump, called the POTUS’ response “horrible.”

Trump took a tough stance against the Chinese because he made it clear he understood the threat they posed on the world — and their own people. Biden’s refusal to condemn the communists is like giving them a green light to continue committing human rights abuses. The US is supposed to be the shining light on the hill that other nations look up to, but it’s clear the new president is not implementing policies that will demonstrate that to the world.
